Blessed is he that considereth the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth.

Grace Minor

Occupation: home health care and childcare provider

Areas of service in Swaziland: eyeglass clinic

Year served in Swaziland: 2006, 2007

Imagine long squished car rides, working late into the night and going to the restroom outside; but it is all worth it when a Gogo (grandmother) puts on her glasses and dances out of the room. I can't begin to describe the joy and excitement over a pair of used eyeglasses. Not to mention the Bibles they can now read with their new glasses.

The joy and genuine thankfulness of each family that receives a new SiSwati Bible is overwhelming. Their eagerness to learn more about Jesus and their willingness to listen is encouraging.

Touching the Swazis was a life changing experience. It was no walk in the park, but it was worth it to see over 4,000 Swazis come to know Jesus.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord." (Jer. 29:11) was the verse I would recite over in my head when things were tough. I may not know how the Lord will use me each day to impact someone else, but He knows. If you allow God to work in your life, He will do amazing things.
