Eswatini’s first Liswati physician assistant is Nonplumelelo (Lelo) Dlamini, who started her career with The Luke Commission three years ago and continues with humble determination. She spends countless hours in the surgical department, seldom even looking a little tired.
Lelo attended University of Pretoria in South Africa and knew of TLC through her adoptive parents. She encourages donors and partners from afar “to come and see what TLC does in Eswatini. It’s so much more than we can convey in writing and pictures. Every single penny goes a long way.”
Claiming Jesus as “my best friend, my buddy,” Lelo says her hero is her biological mom who died a few years ago.
She favors her homeland, because “it’s so beautiful, not polluted, green when it gets green, where my heart is.”
TLC’s future here is secure, Lelo says. “People will always need the touch from God that TLC gives.”
