Kalvin Tuinstra came to The Luke Commission when he was “invited by my daughter and son-in-law.” That was more than a decade ago.
He says to his co-workers: “If I were more conversant, I would let all the staff know that my heart is with everyone who works here. Stay, even in the tough times, and be part of what God is doing for them, as well as for others.”
To donors and partners, Kalvin explains: “TLC does wonderful work. Every penny is spent wisely. A whole nation is being blessed, plus 150 employees are being nourished and grown up in the Lord.”
Kalvin’s favorite place is Eswatini. “I love to interact with individual Emaswati and to watch them interact with each other. TLC leaders have vision for seeing a nation heal and for seeing rural people healthier through God’s care.”
Though Kalvin’s four children are grown and have their own families, he hopes “they seek the Lord in their lives and flourish in His presence.”
His favorite Bible verse-- which he quotes often-- is Philippians 3:10: “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”
