Outreach

Pop-Up Hospitals

In a country where 75% of the population resides in rural areas, accessing urban healthcare facilities can be challenging. Since the beginning, TLC has extended its healthcare mission to all corners of Eswatini by bringing clinics to the people, wherever they are.

Mobilized and Mobile

Mobilizing nimble teams of three to 50 staff members, TLC conducted dozens of outreaches weekly in 2023, serving homes, churches, factories, urban hubs, schools and community centers. At outreach, patients move through numbered stations, each operated by skilled personnel. A scannable token tracks medical history within TLC's electronic health record system.

Matsapha Mobile Clinic

Matsapha Mobile Clinic (MMC) The Matsapha Mobile Clinic (MMC) is a full-service, semi-permanent outreach site located in the heart of the Matsapha industrial district. Founded in 2018 as part of a public-private partnership with Matsapha Town Council, USAID and the private sector, the site operates Monday-Friday with early morning and evening hours.

MMC caters primarily to the working population in this sector, many of whose working hours do not allow them flexibility to visit regular clinics. Hosting an average of 300 people per day, MMC provides a full platform of comprehensive health services. This site also serves as a strategic location for ART and PrEP refills due to its convenient location and hours. MMC is staffed with a doctor, nurses, counselors, pharmacy personnel, lab personnel, and support staff daily.

DREAMS on Wheels

In October of 2020, TLC became the clinical service partner for the DREAMS program, which serves adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). TLC hosts DREAMS on Wheels (DoW) outreaches in all DREAMS Tinkhundla in collaboration with community implementing partners who refer beneficiaries for clinical services.
