Statement of Fact

19 January 2026 | Sidvokodvo, Eswatini

Neal Rijkenberg served on the Board of The Luke Commission prior to his appointment as Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Eswatini.

His service on the TLC Board was undertaken in a voluntary, unpaid capacity. During his board tenure, he received no salary, no sitting fees, no allowances, and no financial or personal benefit of any kind.

Upon his appointment to public office, Mr. Rijkenberg ceased board service.

This governance approach reflects international best practice in nonprofit governance, safeguarding institutional independence, donor trust, and patient-first decision-making.

TLC acknowledges the service of all board members who have carried this responsibility without personal gain, in keeping with these governance standards, so that compassionate healthcare remains available to those who need it most.

This statement reflects the factual governance record.
